1. Who we are

People Helping Businesses ("PHB", "we", "us") arranges business financing for businesses in Canada and the United States through third-party lenders. PHB is headquartered at 500 4 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 2V6, Canada.

This policy applies to withphb.com, our application, our partner programs and any communication with us. Questions about privacy go to our privacy team at ask@withphb.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to assess your request, arrange financing and run our partner programs.

• Contact details: name, email, phone number and address.
• Business information: legal and operating name, structure, addresses, industry, time in business, revenue and sales, number of locations, and what the financing is for.
• Owner information: home address, ownership percentage, date of birth and, if you choose to provide it, your Social Insurance Number (Canada) or Social Security Number (United States).
• Financial information: bank statements you upload, or read-only bank data you choose to share through our bank-verification provider, plus your payment processor details.
• Partner information: details you give us when you apply to become a dealer, broker or referral partner.
• Technical information: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and how you arrived at our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

We may also receive information about you or your business from lenders, credit bureaus (with your consent), the dealer or partner who referred you, and public records.

3. How we use it

• To check eligibility, prepare your application and match it with suitable lenders.
• To submit your application to lenders, follow up on conditions and keep you updated through to funding.
• To verify identity and business information and help prevent fraud.
• To respond to your questions and manage partner relationships, including referral tracking and compensation.
• To send service messages about your application, and marketing messages where you have agreed to receive them.
• To operate, secure and improve our website and platform, and to meet legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Credit checks

Checking your eligibility on our website does not involve a credit check. When you submit an application and agree to its terms, you authorize PHB and the lenders reviewing your application to obtain credit reports on you and your business from credit bureaus. A lender may do this as part of its review, and we'll tell you before your file goes to a lender.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services:

• Lenders and financing partners whose programs may fit your business, so they can review and decide on your application.
• Credit bureaus, with your authorization, to obtain or verify credit information.
• Service providers who work on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, including hosting, cloud storage, email delivery and bank verification.
• The dealer or partner who referred you, limited to the status of your request, and only with your consent.
• Authorities or other parties where required by law, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
• A successor business, if PHB is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

6. Your consent and choices

By using our services you consent to the collection, use and sharing described here. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer process your application.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails through the link in any message, and stop text messages by replying STOP. We will still send messages needed to handle your application.

7. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your progress in the application and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

8. Where your information is stored

PHB uses service providers in Canada and the United States. Your information may be stored or processed in either country and may be accessible to authorities there under local law. We require providers to protect it to the standard set out in this policy.

9. How we protect it

Information is encrypted in transit, documents are kept in private storage, access is limited to people who need it to do their work, and sensitive identifiers are encrypted and access to them is logged. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information against loss, theft and unauthorized access.

10. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including to meet legal, accounting, lender and regulatory requirements. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete it or make it anonymous.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, ask us to delete it, or receive a copy. Residents of some US states have additional rights, including to know what we collect and to opt out of certain uses. We do not sell personal information.

To make a request, email ask@withphb.com. We may need to verify your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the privacy regulator where you live.

12. Businesses, not individuals

Our services are for businesses and their owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and our financing is not for personal, family or household purposes.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Significant changes will be highlighted on our website.
